Several things you need to know when exporting Lithium Polymer Battery to South Korea.

Navigating the global market for Lithium Polymer Batteries involves complying with stringent safety standards.  KC certification ensures your products

meet South Korea's rigorous safety requirements, essential for seamless export or import operations.  Understanding these regulatory nuances is

crucial for market entry and ensuring consumer trust.

Brief Introduction about KC Certification

Korea Certification KC Mark was announced by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) of South Korea on August 25, 2008.  The National

Standards Committee implemented a new unified national certification mark from July 2009 to December 2010.

Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) announced the standards applicable to portable secondary lithium battery packs and lithium

cells: Self-Regulatory Safety Confirmation, Annex 05, and included relevant products in the self-declaration product category of the KC certification

system.  This was officially implemented on July 1, 2009.

Testing of portable secondary lithium battery packs and lithium cells must be conducted by authorized laboratories within South Korea.  Upon

successful evaluation, products receive a Confirmation Letter of Declaration valid for 5 years, with no need for factory inspections during this period.

In February 2017, KC abolished the certification's validity period.

Product Range

a.Cell: portable, with an energy density of over 400Wh/L per volume.

b.Battery (Pack): Single batteries are manufactured in parallel.

c.Portable lithium battery with navigation function or battery with no relation to energy density per volume.  (Used under harsh conditions inside the car)

d.Single battery for portable medical devices, bar codes and credit card readers.

e.Carrying machines: MP3, electronic dictionary, PMP, notebook computer, digital camera, etc.

f.Non-certified objects: battery for vehicle driving, battery for production, battery for medical use or button-shaped battery.
